Frequently Asked Questions
about the CBH Medical Rehab Program
We understand you may have questions about the CBH program. Here are some of the most common questions we receive, answered directly for you.
Getting Started and Seeing Results
When can I expect to see results, and what should they be?
You can expect to see results from the very first time you use the program. The goal is to start getting erections the way your body was designed to function. You should see your penis becoming bigger, better, and healthier. The key to achieving these results is to use less pressure and more repetition with the vacuum, combined with arousal with your partner.
How long do I need to do this program?
The simple answer is: for as long as you want to enjoy great sex. Having an erection is a necessary bodily function. When this function is impaired, it leads to erectile dysfunction. Our program is designed to help you maintain this natural function throughout your life.
Do you have a reference guide?
Yes! Need a quick refersh on the program? You can use this guide.
How long should I wait between reps?
It isn't a set number of seconds. Wait until the blood has fully receded and you've gone completely soft, then begin the next rep. For some men that's fifteen seconds, for others closer to a minute, and it typically gets quicker as the weeks go on and the tissue conditions.
The reason matters: you're cycling blood in and out, and the release is doing as much work as the pump. Starting the next rep while still partly engorged means you're topping up blood that's already there rather than drawing in fresh oxygenated blood.
You don't need to remove yourself from the cylinder between reps. Release the vacuum, let it go soft in the cylinder, and pump again.
How long should a full session take?
Eight to ten reps at twenty to thirty seconds each, plus recovery time between reps and a two-minute hold on the last one, generally comes to ten to fifteen minutes. Sessions tend to get shorter as recovery between reps speeds up.
If yours is taking significantly longer, check whether you're removing yourself from the cylinder between reps, that adds re-lubricating and re-sealing to every rep and is the most common reason sessions drag.
Equipment and Usage
The rings feel too tight. Can I get a bigger size?
A tight ring is essential for the program's effectiveness. Think of it as a tourniquet that traps blood in the penis to maintain a firm erection. While it may feel tight, a snug fit is necessary for optimal results. In fact, our two smallest ring sizes are the most frequently reordered, as they provide the best performance. What you need is a healthier penis and a tighter ring, not a bigger one.
The rim or the edge of the insert digs into me. What should I do?
First, don't trim, sand, or modify the cylinder or insert. A cut edge is sharper than a molded one, and under vacuum pressure the tissue is pulled firmly against it. Modifying the device also voids the warranty.
Three things fix this in most cases. Start with lubricant — a thin even line all the way around the rim, and a light coat inside, including the inner edge of the insert. Dry contact is what creates the biting sensation. Next, check how the cylinder is sitting: it should be flat and square against the body, not angled, since an angle puts all the pressure on one point of the rim. Finally, reduce the pressure on your next session. You don't need maximum pressure for the therapy to work.
If none of that resolves it, call CBH at 947.224.7342. It may simply be the wrong insert for you, and that's worth sorting out rather than working around.
When should I use the insert, and when should I go without it?
Your device comes with the standard cylinder. Use the smaller insert if the standard cylinder feels too large. After seven to ten days of consistent use, try a session without it — most men find they no longer need it as tissue health improves.
If neither the standard cylinder nor the insert feels right, call us before you settle for uncomfortable. Fit affects whether you stay consistent, and consistency is what makes the program work.
What is the best way to apply lubricant to get a good seal with a vacuum cylinder?
Apply small dabs of lubricant all the way around the cylinder’s edge instead of trying to spread on a large amount at once. The goal is to create an even, secure seal where the cylinder meets the body without using more lubricant than necessary. Before use, make sure the cylinder can sit flush and seal comfortably. Follow the instructions supplied with your device and contact CBH Medical Rehab or your healthcare provider if you need assistance.
Post-Surgery and Consistency
What are the sensations like after prostate surgery? Are they normal, and what should I expect?
After prostate surgery, you will no longer release fluid during sex, but the sensations of arousal and climax remain, and can even be enhanced. Many men, including our founder who had the surgery over 20 years ago, report that the experience is even better.
What if I miss a day? I feel like I'm not making progress.
It is perfectly fine to miss a day or two. The most important thing is to be patient with your body and give it time to heal and respond to the program. Remember that less pressure and more repetition are key. Our program is a rehabilitation process, not a quick fix. We provide the tools and education for you to maintain a healthy penis for the long term.
Long-Term Use and Maintenance
How long should I continue with the program, and is there a maintenance plan?
You should continue with the program for as long as you wish to maintain a healthy sex life. Yes, there is a maintenance plan. Since having an erection is a vital bodily function, our program is designed to help you sustain it for life. Don't give up on your sexual health. You've made a great choice by starting this journey.
